Senate passes bill to give angel investors 25% Michigan tax credit
The lame-duck session of the Michigan Senate gave angel investors a tax change they've been asking for Tuesday afternoon, approving House Bill 5921 by a vote of 34-0.The bill, sponsored by Ellen Lipton, D-Huntington Woods, had passed in the House in April, 99-8, but had bogged down in the Senate. State angel investors and the representatives of the Michigan Venture Capital Association had been meeting recently with legislators urging the bill to be voted on in the lame-duck session, which ends this week.
